Review of the G110


The G 110 is the original Rigel design, characterized by its detachable neck, arched fingerboard, solid-body-style radiused sides and cutaway horns, all entirely unlike accepted mandolin construction techniques.

Folk Art


Musicians all over the world play Rigel mandolins. Based on an original design by Peter Langdell, they are manufactured in the Hyde Park factory he runs with his partner, Peter Mix. The partners share a passion for music and lutherie.

The first time I saw a Rigel Mandolin I thought, "That looks more like a Stratocaster than a mandolin". When I spoke with Pete in February, 2005 I was not surprised to learn that he has a thing for unusual instruments."
